The World of Color is a 2D top-down rpg video game that is art and fantasy themed, in which you are a young hero artist who must purify the World of Color from the evil monsters who want to purge it of all color.

We had to make sure that each object had a clear silhouette and a consistent art style. Our communication skills were used to create clarity throughout the designs of the characters and the background, so everything reads well. The NES vst was used for every single sound effect in the game, and using the noise with different notes contributed well to the overall sound. We also had to utilize shader graphs in order to implement the core feature of returning color to the game.

This game is heavily inspired by Legend of Zelda and art supplies. The character went through a rigorous redesign process as seen here. Obtaining a working keyboard was the hardest part for sound, as well as learning an entirely new audio program. Using Unity Collaborate allowed the programmers to more consistently keep up with each others’ work, and improved communication and efficiency in the game-making process.
